Canadian Networks to Outperform Early 5G Countries

Canada_1
December 12, 2019 – A recent Opensignal report on the future performance of Canadian and U.S. networks suggests that Canada is poised to leapfrog other countries who had earlier 5G deployments. This is due to Canada's ability to transition directly to the more efficient standalone version of 5G network technology. Opensignal notes that a primary hindrance to 5G deployment in Canada is still the country’s spectrum auction timeline, which has so far only allocated licenses in the 600 MHz band.
